Using hydrogenation technology, in which sulfur and aromatics are removed using hydrogen under high pressure, it is possible to obtain very pure base oils that are suitable when quality requirements are particularly strict. Chemicals - additives - are added to the base oil to meet the quality requirements of the final products in terms of, for example, friction and cleaning properties. Certain types of motor oil contain more than twenty percent additives. SN 150-300-500 base oil is known as a light grade base oil at the lower end of the specification for first grade light base oils. It is mostly used in the production of lubricants and lubricant additives. It is a Group I base oil that has undergone solvent refining processes. Base oils are used to produce products such as motor oil, industrial oil, grease, etc.
