Dual phase steel is a type of steel alloy that consists of a hard phase (martensite/bainite) and a soft phase (often ferrite). The hard phase usually constitutes 5-30% of the chemical composition of two-phase steels. The most common heat treatment required for the manufacture and production of DP steels is hot rolling along with cold rolling and annealing.
